Nature hiking is not about rushing to the end, but more about looking at what surrounds you, relaxing and learning more about Boquete's natural beauty. We hike "Off the Beaten Path" it's the best way to hike and to take in nature.
This Wednesday 11/29 is for the intermediate to advanced hiker. We’ll meet at the Boquete Library located in Bajo Boquete along the main road leading into town at 8:30 AM., carpooling from there to a side road off the Jaramillo loop (on the Hotel Oasis side).
When we hike down this road and back, we’ll see Lucero and if we’re lucky may even see the Pacific. The road is called the La Estrella/ El Valle. It’s not too bad of a gravel road with lots of up and down but no extended periods of either. Lots of fun sites and good company.
This is a gravel road so wearing shorts are fine, if you prefer. Bring water, raingear, bug spray, wear sunblock and a snack.
Do what you feel comfortable with and come join the fun.
See you on the trail.
We meet at different locations twice a week. Wednesday for the intermediate to advanced hiker, EZ Friday is for the beginner, even for the advanced hiker and especially for the nature lover, birder and photographer.
Email Jere McCormick to be placed on the hiking email listing to receive your weekly announcements. jere chica @gmail .com (no spaces)
What does nature "hiking off the beaten" mean? No hikes on asphalt, we hike where the guides don't take the visitors 95% of the time, we hike in the surrounding hills of Boquete and in rainforest area - even during the rainy season.
See you on trails.....

Community Christmas Party Hosted by Amigos de Boquete Comunidad
By Moderator_02,
The party was planned and executed by a recently formed group of expats under the name of Amigos de Boquete Comunidad (ABC). Joe Hart and his wife, Linda, along with numerous volunteers put together this festive gathering. Our hats off to Joe, Linda, and all of their elves.
Here are a few pictures from this event:

ARF Thanksgiving Meal
By Bud,
An unexpected plus for us was that we finally got to meet Beth Abrahams (it is kind of a long story, don't ask).
Beth Abrahams
We also got to catch up with all of the latest travels and happenings of our friends who were at our table. Met a few new people, etc.
There simply was nothing that we could fault (not our goal anyway). This is the way things should be done, and ARF did it with all of their wonderful volunteers. If someone found fault with something yesterday, then I would chalk them off as being a token curmudgeon. Thank you ARF! GREAT JOB!!!!
Thank you to all who helped make yesterday's Thanksgiving Day celebration such a huge success, and special thanks to N&N:
I will close with: we all have a lot to be thankful for.
