Subject: Celebrate the life and times of Richard/Rich/Dick Greene - NEXT Sunday July 26th

Hello:

Jo Greene, Gary Greene and the rest of our family invite you to join us for a celebration of the extraordinary life and times of Rich Greene, on the afternoon of Sunday, July 26, 2020.  (Next Sunday!)

Where?
In the safety and comfort of your living room,  patio or den!  We will be meeting on Zoom, the popular video meeting system (on the internet).

You are invited to participate - even if you don't say anything! Did you never Zoom?    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This page (LINK) tells you what you need to know about how to join and participate in that meeting.

Zoom is an internet meeting program - an application you can run from any computer or from your tablet or cell phone.
If you have never participated on a Zoom meeting, webinar or just a Zoom call with friends and family, you will find it to be amazing AND user-friendly.  Users can listen and participate with all other users on the call.
Video participation is always optional, so if you don't have a camera on your computer, don't let that keep you from joining in.

Please . . .  Don't wait until the last minute to do your first Zoom call!

If you already have Zoom installed on your device, clicking on the meeting link bulleted above and below is all that is required!

NOTE: Too many people talking at once leads to cacophony and chaos.  It's not fun.
In order to reduce 'cross talk' during our celebration Zoom meeting, all participants will be muted EXCEPT when they are recognized.
Here's how you can get recognized to speak: (1) Click/tap on the PARTICIPANTS button on your screen.  (2) Then you'll be able to click or tap on your own name and select 'raise hand'.
A 'raised hand' icon will appear next to your name on the list and I will also see the icon on my screen.  I'll announce your name and will unmute your line so that you can speak your question or other input to the group.  (If I have unmuted you but you have muted yourself, I will alert you to unmute your microphone so that we can hear you.) When your conversation with us has concluded, I will again mute your line.  Cool?
I'll cover a couple of other basics before the formal remarks begin.

Here's the link.  It goes live Sunday 7/26 at 3:30PM Eastern Time meeting will be brought to order promptly at 4PM Eastern. Password (if you need it): 728410

If you want a telephone-only connection, or if you have limited internet connection, follow this link for additional instructions.

Subject: Reminder: Celebrate the life and times of Richard/Rich/Dick Greene - THIS Sunday July 26th

Hello again!

This Sunday afternoon, we're gathering on Zoom to celebrate my Dad and the impact he had on so many people in so many places.
We've gotten many many RSVPs and responses and we want to make sure we are prepared to include as many folks as would like to tell a story about him.

If you are inclined to share a funny story, inspirational story, an anecdote about him or other tribute, please reply back so we can be sure to include your comments in our Zoom call.
A Zoom meeting is different than it would be in a church or other physical setting, so we're eager to let his friends tell their stories about him.

Do you have a personal story to tell?  If so, please reply back so that we can be sure to recognize you at an appropriate time during the Zoom call.
No pressure, no obligation.  And OK to change your mind at the last minute without judgement from us.

It's going to be poignant, certainly, but we're talking about celebrating my Dad, so it's also going to be fun and inspirational too.

We WILL invite comments during the Zoom call, but for planning purposes, and to make sure those with 'prepared remarks' get specifically recognized we ask that you let us know, OK?  Reply to this email.
NOTES:
  • Do you want to do a 'test call' on Zoom before Sunday's 4PM/1PM Pacific memorial meeting?  Reply back to me and I'll help you get the Zoom software set up and get you comfortable with it.  Please don't wait until the last minute if you want my help!
  • We will be having a TOAST to my Dad during the Zoom celebration.  Be prepared and BYO - your choice of beverage!   ;-)
  • We also will have a sing-along at the end.  A love song (LINK) that Dad often sang to Mom.
We look forward to seeing you this Sunday afternoon!
