And Now I Know - Laundry

Gurrr........another day with electricity outage. Again, home laundry is not happening. So I discovered a nice full service laundry guy located behind Boquete police station. This place does a fast turn around of wash/dry and fold at a reasonable price. He only does wash and dry — no ironing, dry cleaning, etc.

Happy clean day at our house.?

Below is a picture of the laundry that we used.

The sign over the door reads "Lavamatico." This business is next door to the Cafe Boquete breakfast place. Both are located immediately behind the Boquete Police Department, and in the same block (but opposite end) of the block where the CSS Policlinica is located.

Here’s my new Saturday schedule:  deliver my dirty laundry; eat breakfast at Cafe Boquete, get my haircut; grab my clean duds and boggie home. All of this done at one location in town. Happiness is me!

Oh no......I forgot to check the calendar for the yard sale time.

Cafe Boquete also serves lunch and dinner.  Typico ranges from $3 to $3.5, their traditional bowl of chicken soup is $1.50.  On Friday and Saturday nights they fire up the outdoor smoker and offer ribs and such.  I have neighbors that bring their own plastic Tupperware type containers and buy in bulk to go.  Very fast service for lunch if you're in a hurry.

However a can of soda such as Coca Cola is $1.50!

And their TV is never blaring!

There's another lavamatico around the corner on the outdoor seating side across the street.  Between the two, you can always get your laundry done quickly.

Breakfast, chicken soup for lunch, and ribs for dinner all at Cafe Boquete. I’ll take my own Coca Cola, though. And I had better rework my Saturday schedule.

Thanks for the added information, Siempre.

P.S.   Is it Saturday yet? :o

Yes, but I may add that they're family owned like the Fish House and sometimes decide not to open on time or at all.  We went for breakfast one morning and there was one of the owners wearing a bathrobe and slippers preparing her breakfast.  She said no breakfast today, see you at lunch.

Interesting, and not the first time we have had such experiences (note use of the plural here)..

To some, this aspect of life in Boqueteville is called its charm, and to others it is an irritant. To each his own.

This topic has brought unexpected information to the table. Yeah for it because we all win! We plan to try Cafe Boquete in the near future.

When my Tuesday lunch group decides to dine at The Fish House, one of us stops overs or calls and makes them promise to be open at 12 noon sharp. It always works and the food is so good and so reasonably priced, it's worth it. Have also done that with the Fusion restaurant when it was downstairs on the corner.

Yes, I agree 100% as many here would too, charm is an excellent description.

I forgot to mention that they serve bottled beer too, I believe it's cheaper that the soda.

Like verifying a time certain in court, that's good to know.
