Natural Disasters

Some thoughts on the recent spate of natural disasters affecting Mexico, many Caribbean islands, and parts of the southern U.S.

We complain here about power outages that last longer than a few hours. Many people in the Caribbean will be living without electricity for 4 to 6 months.

People who live on islands are trapped and have nowhere to run to.

Continuing to allow construction in flood plains and coastal areas is simply stupid.

There are people around who knock others here for rescuing dogs. They should be aware of all the  people who dogs have rescued in the last weeks.

It's important to be prepared and have some kind of an action plan ready in case of an emergency here.

Mother Nature can be a bitch.

Horqueta eruption.  Before, first blasts and the ash fallout..........think about it.  Yah I know Horqueta is not really a volcano....but you get the drift.
